It turned out to be a new genus, Imparphora, and the type is Imparphora pahangensis, named after the state location it was found i.e. Fraser’s Hill, Pahang.
Information on scuttle flies in Malaysia is still scarce although several species have been discovered from various environments in Malaysian lowland with unique and sexually dimorphic characteristics. Previous records on highland species were made by Borgmeier based on specimens from Cameron Highlands.
