Unknown Megaselia with abdominal protuberance
This specimen was collected by myself from a rabbit carcass at Forensic Science Simulation Site, UKM Bangi, on 27th October 2015. And I just processed it yesterday on slide – now drying it in the oven. I have communicated with Dr. Henry Disney that this kind of Megaselia, with protuberance on the abdomen, is not uncommon. But yet, information about this species is scarce. I will try my best to describe it, but not up to naming it because: i. it is the only specimen of its kind; and ii. nomenclature basically prioritize on males. In case there will be further encounters with this species in the future, it warrant a publication.
